At St. Monica's we invite parents and guardians to participate in the life of the school.  Some of the opportunities for involvement are:

School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council is made up of a group of parents, the Principal, Parish Priest and members of the Staff.  Meetings are held regularly during the year.

Parents & Friends Committee

The St. Monica's Parents & Friends Committee works for the welfare of the school community.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to be members.  Meetings are held regularly during the year. All parents are urged to contribute in any way they can, to help support this committee.

The aims of this Committee are:

  • To encourage the voluntary assistance of parents, to support the school, the teachers and the curriculum program.
  • To promote the building of a stronger communtiy through social occasions.
  • To raise funds towards the general recurrent costs of the school as well as specific projects.

Bookclub

Your child will receive Scholastic Book Club catalogues throughout the year.  These provide you with an opportunity to purchase quality children's literature at discounted prices.  There is no obligation to purchase, but if you wish to buy from the catalogues, please order online or return the money with the order form by the due date in a sealed envelope.  If paying by cheque please make cheques payable to Scholastic Bookclub.  Clearly write your child's name and the amount of money enclosed on the front of the envelope.

Our canteen has two part time coordinators.  They are also reliant on volunteers to assist them*. The school Canteen is open to students on Thursday at first break (11-11:15am) and Friday's (Lunchorder day) at first break and second break (1:45pm-2pm).

Students place their lunch orders on CDF Pay before 9am Thursday or send in the luch order wallet/envelope with your child's order on a Thursday for Friday which is lunch order day.  Pricelists and menus are distributed regulary to inform parents of what is available.  Duty Rosters are published in the School Newsletter.

* Please see the volunteers page for information on how to become a volunteer in our school community
